Little Rock Zip Codes That Carry Wire Cutter Suppliers
The city of Little Rock, Arkansas was founded near the site of a small rock used in navigating the Arkansas River. Its early days were that of a trading post, with French trappers, Native American traders, and European settlers converging on the settlement because of its convenient location at the river crossing. Today Little Rock has grown into the state capitol of Arkansas, a major regional shopping destination, and home to numerous museums, attractions, and festivals. Come visit the city where historic charm meets modern improvements, home of former United States President Bill Clinton and the presidential center built in his name.
The forests and rivers that have naturally had to give way for a city of nearly 200,000 to take root haven't been entirely tamed in Little Rock. City parks like Riverfront Park, which is home to the original "little rock" that the city gets its name from, offer you a chance to take a stroll through the trees. If you really want to get out in the wilderness, try hiking nearby Pinnacle Mountain, home of the Arkansas Arboretum and its interpretive trails. View wildlife in their natural habitat in the parks or visit the Little Rock Zoo to see over 200 species of local and exotic animals.
The primary attraction in the city is, of course, the new Clinton Presidential Center. Situated on 28 acres, it contains an extensive library, museum of Clinton-term artifacts, and Clinton foundation offices. To get a taste of governance, you can also visit the Arkansas State Capitol building, which is a replica of the national capitol. There are numerous museums where you can spend an afternoon, from the MacArthur Military Museum to the IMAX Aerospace Education Center to the Quapaw Historic district. For those who want a little less learning sneaking into their vacation, try the Willow Springs water theme park.
Some of the most unique souvenir items in the city can be found in the gift shops of the above attractions, but you also won't want to miss Little Rock's dedicated shopping districts. Stroll the streets of the River Market district and window shop in the eclectic boutiques or visit the Farmer's Market for some fresh food and local crafts. Little Rock also has more than its fair share of shopping malls, ranging in size from just a few stores to over a hundred. Take the Park Plaza mall, an upscale shopping center which spans three floors.
